Brighton, England

Sometimes all you need is a day at the beach.

Yesterday, I went on a spontaneous trip to Brighton with one of my friends. It was so relaxing and peaceful. I loved sitting on the beach, listening to the sound of the waves, and feeling the warmth of the sun.

~Brighton was such a fun town to explore~

We went to music stores, antique shops, found vintage cameras, and even went on a fun ride on the pier (screaming was involved) haha!

Time has flown by. After many hours spent in the library, major essays written, and many cups of coffee consumed later, I finished my academic semester last Friday!

3 Exams, 2 Essays, and 1 stress filled week. But, studying here has been an unforgettable experience and I wouldn’t change anything about it. I am so grateful for the friendships that I have made here and the people that I have become close with.

It was about a quarter into my stay here where I had a moment of realisation, that I have made a home away from home here and that I have become very comfortable in the community of friends that I have met.

I have enjoyed sharing my pictures with friends and family through social media and one evening, one of my social media savvy friends came up with a fun and clever hashtag. #SightseeingStringer. haha!

I have a little under 2 months left of my stay and as I am making the most of it and preparing myself to return to the states, it feels so strange because for the past six months, I have made this place my home. I have been so lucky to find a group of people who have welcomed me into their lives and that I have become close with. I found a routine and was even invited to go to a church with friends each Sunday as well. All things that have made my stay here unforgettable.

However, I am excited for the plans that I have for these coming weeks and I am so excited for my family to come at the end of June to travel England with me!

#SightseeingStringer still has more to see and do.

Easter Break in Italy

Last week, I was in Italy with two of my friends!

We had the most incredible time exploring and learning new things. For the first half of the trip, we were in Rome.

In Rome, we saw the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill. It was amazing to see such old structures and learn about the history.

In Naples, we took a day trip down to Sorrento and enjoyed the views of the Sea. It was beautiful! The water was so blue and clear we could see the fish.

On our last day, I got the opportunity to go horseback riding on Mount Vesuvius. That was an experience that I will never forget and the views were incredible!

It was a fantastic Easter holiday!
